Sizing made easy

Build it right, enjoy it for years

For stable, efficient operation, plan R-20 or higher in the walls/ceiling, solid insulated door with tight seals, and simple condensate drain. If adding glass, choose insulated double-pane or IGU and confirm the plan with us.

Installation - 3 steps

Measure, cut, insert, secure, connect and power, through-the-wall keeps things clean. Box includes mounting frame, finish grille, drain kit and wall controller with 5 ft cable. Keep unit level and route the drain with a gentle fall for a tidy result.

Shape

Control you can trust

A slim wall controller with a crisp display makes everyday use simple.

Set the cellar temperature, tap On or Off, adjust as needed, and check status at a glance. A brief start delay and automatic defrost protect performance. If you need more reach, add an extended controller cable.

Lightbulb

Mount the controller at typical bottle height and out of the direct supply airflow for accurate readings.

Built for wine, not for open spaces

The WR2500 maintains cellar-level conditions in a properly insulated, sealed envelope. If your design includes glass, plan for insulated double-pane or IGU, keep seals tight, and share your drawings so we can confirm sizing together.

Build it like a small insulated room with R-20 or higher in walls and ceiling, a solid insulated door, and weather seals. Do that, and the WR2500 runs smoothly and quietly.

Common questions about the WR2500

The WR2500 is designed for sealed, insulated wine cellars or sealed pantries. Build the envelope correctly and you will get cellar-steady results.

All-glass designs are challenging. If glass is part of the look, use insulated double-pane or IGU, minimize the area, seal perfectly, and confirm the plan with our team before ordering.

It is quiet by design, similar to a quality refrigerator. Placement and thoughtful decoupling can further reduce perceived sound.

Two common conditions can extend run time: very low thermal mass in a new or empty cellar. Add bottles or placeholders and place the controller out of direct supply airflow.

The Wine-R's temperature sensor is built into the unit's return air grille, measuring incoming cellar air temperature. This accurately controls your cellar's temp. External sensors placed elsewhere will often show different readings due to their location.

Yes. A condensate drain is part of a proper installation. Route it with a gentle fall and keep the unit level to avoid water near the base.

The WR2500 is a cooling system. Keep ambient conditions near the wine room within sensible ranges. If occasional heating is needed, plan it at the room level.

It helps preserve humidity by avoiding harsh on and off blasts typical of room air conditioners, but it is not a humidifier. If your climate is very dry, consider room-level humidity strategies.

Add an extended cable so the controller is easy to read and out of the cold airstream. Popular 10 to 12 ft options are available.

Timer variations are normal and occur due to the unit's internal system processes. This does not affect your unit's performance or cooling operation.

Through-the-wall installation can be DIY-feasible in a properly built residential cellar when the wall opening, drainage, clearances, and electrical service are correct. You will need a dedicated 115V / 60Hz / 15A circuit, a non-loadbearing interior wall opening sized for the unit, and a mandatory condensate drain. If any site condition is uncertain, use the Compatibility check before cutting.
Every WR2500 comes with a two-year limited parts warranty, backed by our North American service team. See our support page for warranty details and how to reach us.
The WR2500 cools residential cellars up to 700 ft³ (19.8 m³) with glass walls, or up to 900 ft³ (25.5 m³) in fully enclosed cellars, with R-20 minimum insulation, double-pane sealed glass, and a sealed envelope. Use our BTU calculator to confirm the right fit for your space. It factors in cubic footage, glass exposure, and insulation.
The WR2500 is compatible with the standard above-door wall opening used by the KoolR Magnum, 15 5/8 in by 9 1/4 in. Opening compatibility is one part of the picture: cooling capacity, a condensate drain, and a dedicated 115V circuit still have to be confirmed. Use the Compatibility check to send measurements and photos. Wine-R is not affiliated with KoolR.
